Balthazar's Introduction Finally, another Z2 release, no joke! At first glance, Gohan might seem like a weak effort, since he shares the same sprite mould as Goku and SSJ Goku. But, like SSJ Goku, the end result is nothing like base Goku at all. Many fresh animations have taken the place of Goku's old ones, and he plays nothing like Goku. Actually, at this point, you should be ashamed of even thinking they were going to be similar. I think team Z2 has earned the right that each release has an immense amount of time, thought and quality control behind it, presenting you with nothing but the absolute best of our efforts. Granted, Gohan has probably had the bumpiest of progress, at one point I was even ready to give up on him and shove him under the carpet, being unsatisfied with his sprites. Even with KoopaKoot briefly jumping in to help coding him, he was lost to me. Then some months later, Cybaster decided to pick him up again, and bizarrely, he was even to re-ignite my interest on him once more. These last few months, he's had a bit of an overhaul, and the same respect and treatment as any other stand-alone release we've put out. Gohan is bringing his own flavour into the Z2 mix, and we hope you'll have fun defeating your entire roster, playing as him! Balthazar Cybaster's Introduction What started as a simple Goku headswap with a few move changes ended up as a totally new character offering some huge mobility and the best Kick gameplay among Z2 characters. But let's get back to the story of Gohan Z2 instead of talking about gameplay. At first, Gohan was a way to capitalize on Goku's sprites, by reusing them kinda lazily to make Gohan. As I had a lot on my plate, working on Vegeta, updating Goku and starting SSJ Goku, Balthazar decided to hand Gohan to Koopakoot. Eventually, after some time, Balthazar's interest in Gohan faded away, and Gohan was a dead WIP. Many months later, SSJ Goku had been released, I was up-to-date with the Freeza WIP, waiting for new sprites to work with. Then I thought : "Hey, why not work on Gohan again and include all the moves I hadn't coded back then!? He'll be incomplete, but I can still release him for fun". So I started working on Gohan, added many new moves and posted a few screenshots here and there. Obviously, Balthazar wanted to see the results of my work, but still without much interest in poor Gohan. But guess what, the new moves had changed his gameplay enough to pick up Balthazar's interest again, and we started brainstorming again, spriting, coding, etc. until we got the final product you're now able to play with. Have fun! Cybaster If you find infinites, please report. If you think some moves or combos are really unbalanced, please report or contact me, I will see what I can do. Note that this character was built for Winmugen (Plus). At this point, I cannot ensure everything will work correctly in Mugen 1.0, moreover in widescreen resolution. It will definitely have bugs if you play with it using Mugen 1.1, since the zooming feature isn't taken into account in this version of Gohan Z2. Contact for Cybaster : - Mail. - Website. - Profile on MugenGuild. Contact for Balthazar : - Profile on MugenGuild. - Website. 1. Gohan was created by Akira Toriyama. 2.
